What sound would a pot make if you could play it? Listen in on a specially commissioned collaboration by V&A Sound Artist in Residence Jason Singh and V&A Ceramicist in Residence Louisa Taylor, as they combine the sounds of the ceramicist at work and the inherent harmonics of the clay vessel.

Divulge the stories behind your beloved tableware items. Whether ‘borrowed’ from mum, lent to a friend, broken at a party or left behind when moving house. For one night only Linda Florence, Jake Ford, Tom Mower and Sian Weston form a creative alliance through which you can pay homage to your cherished pieces and the memories that accompany them.
Hands-on with Manifold

Duration 20 minutes
Step into a real ceramic studio and make your very own piece of tableware. The artists from Studio Manifold will demonstrate clay techniques and talk you through this hands-on workshop. 'Coil' a cup, 'slab-build' a saucer, or 'pinch' a sugar bowl. Then walk away with your finished object!
The Art of Dining

Join The Art of Dining in the officer's mess for a WWII inspired pudding. The London based pop-up restaurant is offering a unique dining experience. You are invited to a sit down tasting complete with art, music and props.  Menu: Earl grey infused cream, with chocolate and caraway bread and butter pudding (contains dairy, wheat and may contain traces of nuts).
Tickets are free and available from the Information Desk in the Grand Entrance from 18.30
Tea Tasting with 1600

Peter Ting and Timothy d’Offay, renowned British ceramicist and tea-smith, joined forces two years ago to design 3-cup shapes to enhance the drinking experience of green, black and fragrant teas. Learn from the best with this workshop on the preparation, serving and savouring of Britain’s favourite beverage.

Discover the fine art of silversmithing and fashion your own bespoke spoon with silversmith Ndidi Ekubia.

Martin Hunt and David Queensberry, specialists in the design of tableware and household ceramics, will be in conversation with Alun Graves, V&A Curator of Ceramics.  Topics covered will include their unique synthesis of tradition and innovation, craft and technology, beauty and utility.

Guess how many regular cups of tea would fill the giant Queensberry Hunt tea cup in Gallery 140. The winner will be announced and a prize awarded in the Grand Entrance at 21.30

Skills Studio: Ceramics Practice at the V&A
Special Price £20.00 as part of the Residency Programme
Two day throwing and form manipulation course with current V&A Ceramics Resident Louisa Taylor
Concentrate on throwing and form manipulation skills with porcelain. Enhance your skills in throwing on the wheel and explore new methods that combine throwing, hand building and construction techniques.
Participants will have the opportunity to work with Louisa Taylor who has been researching new techniques in this area during her six month residency at the V&A.
